Building Permit Process
A clear step-by-step guide to obtaining your building permit with Shed Centre.
Preparing your application
We will obtain all documentation required and send you the application forms for signing.
Submit Permit Application
The application will be submitted and managed online on your behalf by Shed Centre.
Surveyor's RFI
The surveyor may request further information. If required, we will ask for your input.
Council Consents
A specialist will help you obtain council consent if required for the building permit.
Building Permit Issue
Once we have your approvals, we can commence concreting and building works.
Book Inspections
Before concreting and upon completion. A certificate of final inspection (CFI) will mark your build as complete.
Permit Documentation
This must include the following:
- Letter of appointment and application forms
- A copy of title, plan of subdivision
- Council property information certificate
- Site plan and working drawings
- Engineering drawings and certificate
Additional Documentation
On occasion, we may also require:
- Owner builder certificate; or
- Registered build contract
- Soil report (for larger projects)
- Town planning or report and consent
- Owner’s corporation approval
Inspections
You will need to schedule inspections:
- Before footings/slab is poured
- After completion and downpipes are connected to stormwater
Minor rectifications can be photographed and remotely approved. Additional site inspections will attract a fee.
